Wedding notes

Keeping track of readings I like to go over later for wedding. Not all are appropriate but will cut and paste.

Also. I really really don't like Timothy. ;>.>

John 15:9-12

"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you; abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you."

Song of Solomon 2:10-13

My beloved speaks and says to me: "Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away; for lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. The fig tree puts forth its figs, and the vines are in blossom; they give forth fragrance. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away."

I Timothy 1:17

“Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and ever, Amen.”

Jude v. 24

“Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever, Amen.”

Bible Reading - Proverbs 3: 3-12

3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.

4 Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;

6 in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight. [a]

7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the LORD and shun evil.

8 This will bring health to your body
and nourishment to your bones.

9 Honor the LORD with your wealth,
with the firstfruits of all your crops;

10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing,
and your vats will brim over with new wine.

11 My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline
and do not resent his rebuke,

12 because the LORD disciplines those he loves,
as a father [b] the son he delights in.

Bible Reading - Psalm 23

1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,

3 he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.

4 Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.

6 Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.

Song of Songs 2:8-10, 14, 16a, 8:6-7a
I hear my Beloved. See how he comes leaping on the mountains, bounding over the hills. My Beloved is like a gazelle, like a young stag.
See where he stands behind our wall. He looks in at the window, he peers through the lattice.
My Beloved lifts up his voice, he says to me, "Come then, my love, my lovely one, come.
"My dove, hiding in the clefts of the rock, in the coverts of the cliff, show me your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet and your face is beautiful."
My Beloved is mine and I am his. He said to me: Set me like a seal on your heart, like a seal on your arm. For love is strong as Death, jealousy relentless as Sheol. The flash of it is a flash of fire, a flame of the Lord himself. Love no flood can quench, no torrents drown.

The Book of Tobit Chapter 8: 5-8
He began with these words: "Blessed are you, O God of our fathers; praised be your name forever and ever. Let the heavens and all your creation praise you forever. You made Adam and you gave him his wife Eve to be his help and support; and from these two the human race descended. You said, "It is not good for the man to be alone; let us make him a partner like himself.’ Now, Lord, you know that I take this wife of mine not because of lust, but for a noble purpose. Call down your mercy on me and on her, and allow us to live together to a happy old age." They said together, "Amen, amen,"

This is perfect. It's not the bible, though... Or at least I can't find it in bible resources. *wikis* It's Catholic and Orthodox but not protestant. Buh? o.o;

Wuv says that it's like lying to God though since he went after me, totally because of lust. ;>.>

Comments

Heh. Tobit's part of the Apocrypha, and the Protestants don't recognize it as official holy writ.
Was not getting updates sorry!

I feel better about using Tobit since there was a different passage in the suggested readings they gave us. @.@;

It still feels a bit odd, I knew that there were traditions Catholics did that protestants didn't but I didn't know that we followed a different bible...
