On IJ, or LJ? I was being friended by them on LJ, and [info]catness (who is Russian) took a look for me. She thought it might be some sort of marketing/spam thing, but couldn't be sure because some entries did seem like real entries a blogger would make.

LJ. It doesn't really seem random though... The people they friend are... the sort of people you would friend if you were interested in what I had to say. AKA anime types.

One of my accounts is getting friended again, and yeah, they friended a bunch of my friends with similar interests... it was bizarre!
